Hi all,

I am just another blogger with no real talent or professional skills. I bring absolutely nothing to the table. I am here blogging about my travels to various places around the globe. I have traveled to places like Kenya, Indonesia and Thailand and want to share my experiences with you. Most of my posts will probably be more local to my region as I lost my job due to the bad economy and recession my country is currently in. Due to the lack of funds I have been traveling to places like NYC, Philly, Baltimore and DC. More recently though, I have been staying local, visiting places like the Delaware Water Gap, Wildwood and Atlantic City, sort of a staycation.

Hoping that whomever reads my blogs enjoys the articles and pictures. My picture taking skills are better than my writing skills so I hope to elicit some sort of response from you with the images presented here. I am by no means a professional photographer, I am just an amateur photographer that likes to travel and I hope the pictures are good enough for your viewing pleasure.

My dream job would be either travel photographer or photojournalist.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy!

  1. As my teenage daughters will tell everyone, I’m older than dirt. That said, there was this guy I worshiped growing up, a hundred years ago or so, that versed “They say the darkest hour is just before the dawn”. I think it was Bob Dylan – before he started doing ads for Victoria’s Secret. But ya gotta believe in YOURSELF, man. Things can always get worse…and they will. But if you believe in something…anything…they’ll get better. Most importantly, believe in yourself, man. As a single dad with TWO teenage daughters, my main point to them is: 90% of life sucks, it’s how you deal with it that makes you a success. You’re good peeps, believe in yourself, we all do. Peace out from sunny Florida. Believe.

    • Thanks for visiting! I would really love to see the rivers and wildlife of Florida. I was there last year but wasn’t into birding then and now I regret it. I will hopefully be back one day.

  2. Thanks for the “like” on my new little blog cathyandpatsgrandventure. I will be back to visit your beautiful photography and hope to gain some knowledge from your posts. Someday I hope to upgrade my gear in a big way and get closer to my subjects

    • I have been to a couple places near the Delaware Water Gap that had waterfalls but not that one. I will have to look into Ricketts Glenn. Thanks for the tip.

  3. Good evening. Thanks for visiting my blog. I wanted to return the favor and take a look at your site. At the top you said you have no real talent or professional skills. Well…I beg to differ. You are quite skillful at capturing nature and her beauty. Keep up the good work. Many people enjoy your photos. You offer them good things to see.

    Regards…Jim in IA

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I’m glad you liked my photos of the horizon for the weekly photo challenge.
You have some great photography on your blog.
    Good luck with finding work!

  5. Looks to me like you have plenty of talent, and your photos show a level of professional skill in their artistic composition and in the quality of their execution. You have the eye of an artist and the determination of someone striving to make their way in difficult circumstances.

Keep at it and you will succeed…and thanks for your attention to my blog….John H.

  10. Love your photos — and your outlook. I, too, am a globe trotter hit hard by the recession, and I, too, have found fascinating places to visit close to home. I still want to return to the larger world, but I’ve had a delightful time seeing smaller, closer treasures. Thanks for visiting my blog — and leading me to your. Cynthia

  11. ‘sort of a staycation’ – I like that! I’ve not travelled overseas much but have seen a lot of back roads in this corner of Australia. After a serious ‘straightening of circumstances’, I love being still behind the camera and breathing it all in. Best wishes for 2014, CC.

    • Thanks! Staycations are all I can afford at the moment. I did find quite a few places close to home that were worth visiting and continue to visit. I would love to visit Australia one day. Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures. Keep pressing that shutter button.

  12. First, thank you for visiting my blog and congrats to you for joining the community. I take issue with your line, “I don’t bring anything to the table” in your About Me section. You have a tremendous eye and a sense of place and connection to that which you photograph. All the best to you in your life and pursuits in blogging…!

  13. Hi

Just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for the recent like on my blog. I appreciate the support. It’s also given me the chance to discover yours. Great photographs! I looking forward to seeing more.

  14. Love your nature photos. I don’t agree at all with your assessment of your lack of talent — it looks as though you do good work. As for staying close to home — lot of that going around. Foreign travel has stopped for a while, with the economy in such bad shape, but I’ve seen wonderful things around my own region. Silver lining to that cloud. Anyway, keep up the photography — and the dreaming. Hope you find a way to pursue more of what you love.

  15. Just followed you on Flickr. Unbelievably perfect shots. I’ll be back as soon as I have more time to appreciate them properly. A delight to look at them, thank you…

      • Thank you kindly. As you’ve seen, I am only a beginner. Thank you for ‘The Sunshine Award’… It requires a lot of work. With a full time job, asking hours of driving, I do not have a lot of time. Thanks again, I will try…

  16. Hello Twng-
Thanks for stopping by Just Another Nature Enthusiast and giving a “follow.” I think you will enjoy visiting the Pacific Northwest!

I’m intrigued by your site for two reasons…
One- you are photographing the places where I grew up and lived before moving West.
Two – we both are shooting with Nikon D7100s!!

Guess that adds up to giving you a follow, too!

          • I love this camera and have sooooo much to learn! Interesting that you point out the hi-res images. My goal is to learn at least two new things a month that the D7100 can do. This morning I was reading about the HDR capability… is that how you achieved the crisp look on the flicker photos?

            • I haven’t used the HDR option yet and would love to use it but I haven’t had the opportunity to do so yet. A lot of my photos are done using aperture priority and or manual but mostly aperture priority right now. The D7100 is a powerful camera and getting used to the menus and settings is a must. It took me a while to get used to the menus but the settings I was used to from the D70s and carried over but the D7100 is a much better improvement over the D70s. Your ISO, shutter speed and f stop makes a huge difference in the quality of the photos. You need to adjust them for moving objects, still life, lighting conditions and so on. It’s easier to email me at ttwng32@aol.com.

              • Will do!
This kind of dialogue will be greatly appreciated. During a recent trip to Newport Harbor (Oregon), I chatted with a professional photographer as we both were capturing a particularly beautiful sunset. He encouraged me to begin exploring aperture priority. So, that will be my goal. Let me play with this a bit, and email after I start to get my head wrapped around this process.
                Thanks,
                Jane
