Another frequent visitor to my tree and feeder are the Common Grackles. These birds sometimes come from a few dozen up to hundreds at a time. I had the opportunity to photograph some of the babies who flew in by the dozens to feed at my feeder one sunny day. The babies are pretty cute but so very, very noisy especially when there are dozens competing for food.

  1. Terence, you are my bird authority. Because of your posts, I try to keep my eyes wide open when I’m outside. My grandfather had an especial love for birds, and fed them bread crumbs on his steps.

    • Thanks for visiting. I use a very old Nikon D70s and an even older Sigma 70-300mm lens. I am hoping to upgrade to the new Nikon D7100 with a Sigma 120-400mm sometime in late April or early May.
