I visited the bay once again on Feb 6, 2103 and saw some pretty cool and interesting things there. One of the coolest things I saw were the Harlequin Ducks. These ducks are pretty colorful with black, white, gray, brown and blue patches on them. I also saw a Razorbill for the very first time but it was pretty far out in the bay to get a decent photo of it.

Some other types at the bay were:
Purple Sandpiper
Sanderling
Ruddy Turnstone
Brant
Bufflehead
Red-throated Loon

  1. gorgeous photos Terrence, the Harlequin Ducks are beautiful, they have such an amazing colour pattern…wow the Brant certainly get nasty with each other…it looks as though the fellow on the left has the centre

    • Thanks Heather. The Harlequins are my favorite at the bay. The Brant do get nasty every once in a while but for the most part they usually get along. It’s such great fun watching all the different birds and how they interact with each other. It’s addicting haha!

    • Thanks Zac. The expression on the one getting bit is priceless. I suppose I would have the same expression on my face if I was getting bit too.
