Atlantic City and Barnegat Bay

About one week and a half after Sandy, I took a ride down to Atlantic City and closer to home by the Barnegat Bay. These latest images still show some of the damage caused by Sandy.

  1. Wow…the devastation is massive and tragic. Thank you for sharing these photos for those of us who did not experience Sandy. It’s a good reminder that everyone needs to be aware of natural disasters and their destruction no matter where they live. Thanks also for stopping by Travel Oops and liking the “boats post” Steph

    • Thanks for viewing my posts. Sandy did a real good job on the Jersey shore. Further inland got hit pretty hard too. Some areas are still trying to recover five weeks later. Some of the coastal roads were washed away and no one is allowed there yet to this day.

    • Thanks for visiting. Sandy was downgraded from a hurricane last week but it sure seemed like a hurricane to me. The people of NJ came together too and there is a lot of rebuilding going on right now. I have more pictures to add of different areas and they all look the same.

  2. I’ve been to Atlantic City many a time when I worked for the FAA and had to frequently travel to the Technical Center. It saddens me to see the destruction.

    Thanks for sharing.

    • Thanks for stopping by. The images of AC show only one small part of AC. That part of the boardwalk was pretty far away from the casinos and was rarely used. According to the locals, the officials said they might not rebuild that particular section of the boardwalk.
