I have always been enamored with New York City (NYC) and have mostly seen NYC from within the city itself. After doing some research for places in New Jersey (NJ) to see the NYC skyline I narrowed it down to a couple places that would offer the best views.
First was Liberty State Park, NJ which offers great views of Lower Manhattan (the Financial District), the Statue of Liberty and Jersey City. LibertyState Park is a great place to take the family or a date. You can have a picnic or just enjoy the views. This park is great for viewing the new Freedom Tower being built and also a great spot to view the World Trade Center (WTC) Tribute Lights.
Second was Hoboken, NJ. This area provides terrific views of Midtown Manhattan. Midtown is where Times Square is located and the Empire State Building is fairly close by. Viewing Midtown from Hoboken at night is breathtaking. Hoboken has a few parks that have river side seating and a few blocks away there are numerous bars and restaurants. Hoboken provides a full day of entertainment.
The photos below were taken on two different days. I went back the second day to specifically capture the WTC Tribute Lights on 9/11.
Hope you like them as these were my first night shots.
